My Fake Job

I've been spending a lot of time lately on what Shaleah lovingly refers to as my "fake job." You see, I have a "real job" which actually earns me money, and is, I'm told, beneficial to the community. And then I have my other "job" where I write Ruby code and make dumb websites. For the last 3 months I've been writing brand new features for one of my dumb websites and you should check it out here. I'm particularly happy with how the schedule functionality worked out. There was a long, arduous stretch where I tried to briefly comprehend JavaScript long enough to get those little red boxes to show up on the correct days. There is still at least one major bug. You get a gold star if you can tell me what it is. There are many more features (I'm not that slow) but most of them are not visible unless you are logged in. More recently my fake job took on another "client", when I agreed to create the website for the new Broken Bow Green Coalition. The site is just a placeholder for now but will soon be a delight for all ages. I'm pretty sure I only got the job via nepotism (they didn't care about me, they just wanted Shaleah's input), but they were kind enough to give me a project to make me feel important. So in the next few days I'll turn my attention away from fixing bugs on the clinic website and towards making new ones for greenbrokenbow.org, and somewhere in between I might find time to do my real job. You know, the one that I actually get paid to do. In closing I'd like to wish a very happy birthday to Shaleah who loves me so much that she supports my delusions of grandeur. If you want to see me awkwardly hold a cupcake you might want to visit her blog.
