The state of things

It occurred to me this afternoon while reading this (warning popups) story about a father in Texas requesting that his daughter's school ban Fahrenheit 451 during National Banned Books Week that in this day and age making fun of ignorant local bumpkins can happen at internet speed.

Be forewarned backwards, racist, homophobic, religious fanatic creationists! Boing Boing will mock you mercilessly today, whereas even 5 years ago your incredibly poorly thought out and ironic requests that ran in your local newspaper would only get you mocked by your slightly more progressive local populace.

Now that this warning has gone out on my obscure blog on the internet I'm sure all sorts of NASCAR dads will take heed.
